I have a huge article coming on the over 60 screenshots that were released today at E3 (screenshots that include Crafting, Boats, Flying Mounts, Deplomacy and the brand new User Interface amongst other things) however one screenshot I just had to link to.
This is the preliminary box-art for Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, an exclusive to The Safehouse. I was impressed by how similar to the original EverQuest style but when looking on the front cover, I was curious as to who the fourth figure in the shot was. On the right you have Idara, leader of Qalia. To her left, in the middle, is Eila, leader of Kojan. Finally on the left of the shot, the large man in armour, is Jeric, leader of Thestra.
So who was the fourth figure, grey-haired and wielding a dagger?
Brad McQuaid answers this very question; The figure is Keith Parkinson, the man behind the EverQuest artwork and much of Vanguard’s artwork, who sadly passed away late last year. The box art was a man named Donato who was hand-picked by Keith to complete his work for Vanguard.
