I had just got done renewing TripleB’s Hosting Unlimited account well into it’s eleventh year (Yeah, really…I can’t quite believe that either) when I realised I haven’t done one of my stattyness posts in a while. So I felt it was long overdue for another look at the bizarre world of TripleB’s site traffic which usually involves a dollop of self-promotion stirred into a mix of truly bizarre links..

This was a bit down on April but I seemed to get a surge of interest on May 31st…my review of Silence in the Library maybe?
Out of this lot I’m apparently quite popular on a Tuesday which is when most people show up, 1,062 of you to be precise. I also get a lot of people checking the site around 6pm and 9pm on average, though a surprising number of you are still awake at 2am.
Your Equipment (Oooh-er)
When it comes to countries, most of my traffic (19,394 hits of it) appears to be coming to me from the United States, with Great Britain being the next popular location but with only 1,045 hits. 83.6% of you will only stay for up to 30 seconds…come on, stick around, though I know I’m always saying that. Granted you’re probably a bot but even bots need to take a break now and then. Of 76.4% of you though, Windows is still the Operating System of choice, with 10.8% of you using Linux.
What I find interesting these days and a drastic change to how it was even this time last year is that Internet Explorer is clearly now the browser of choice with 47.1% of you using it, to Firefox’s 29.6%. I’m left wondering now if my site works very well with IE7, though the Mandigo theme has probably been designed with IE in mind.
Linkage
I’m getting a nice flow of new traffic from some of the blogs that made it onto my long-neglected blogroll last month, such as mmoquests.com, Amy’s blog, Grouchy Gamer and The Ancient Gaming Noob.
Links returning from the past included Connexions, a Swansea Methodist minister who did a run down of local blogs a few years back. We had Christine @ Big Pink Cookie who I admit I haven’t visited in quite some time, along with Eke who is living life post-fontan, finally.
Oddly the link from her came from a congratulatory post I made from the day little Sammy was born…
Finally there’s the very odd links. Someone out there knows of my infamously bad memory as they’ve stumbled here from an alzheimer’s site…not sure I like the implication there. Then to cap it all off there’s the forum links that tipped me off to all the hotlink leeching being done on my photos of the Focus 2008 concept car.
Searches
The usual bizarre collection of search terms popped up;
For those looking for any members of the O Dell family (Nancy, Jason, Mark, Tony…yes even Spike…) then I should apologise, except I won’t as really that’s the Axim manufacturer’s fault for naming themselves after this family.
My site will be ten years old near the end of the year, something which will also apply to EverQuest 1 in March. While most MMOs would have withered and died after ten years (we assume…EverQuest 1 was one of the first so we’ll have to see) I still have people coming here in search of the Granddaddy of the genre.
For all you fans of How I Met Your Mother…welcome! For all you fans of World of Warcraft I have to say sorry, I don’t have the images of Stormwind Harbour up. Yes, I was as shocked as the next guy to see that all these years in they’ll be expanding the most well known city in the game to include a harbour.
