Bewitched, Bothered, Bewildered

Well I’ve only just dipped in after a smooth upgrade but Wordpress 2.5 is pretty gorgeous so far. There’s a one click media adder so I can plop in pictures, video and other such delights.

Then there’s a nifty feature which automagically installs upgrades for my plugins, a new emphasis on the ever popular new tags system all blogs and sites are using and a nifty new dashboard which can be fully reconfigured to your liking.

Tip of the iceberg stuff really, looking forward to seeing what else it can do.

In an attempt to show that I want to come back to regular updates that don’t require hours of writing and thinking, I was about to hit you with a quicky blog post.

Then I found out Wordpress 2.5, a major new upgrade with astounding new features is available.

So as always, fingers crossed and I’ll see you all on the flip side.

Or something like that.

I’m afraid I have to drag you all into my nerdy little world once more as one year and five months after I stumbled upon this project, Sigil Games Online are ready to launch Vanguard: Saga of Heroes on the world. Beta testing will be finishing Tuesday at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time (So technically Wednesday morning @ 7:59am GMT for me) and sometime on Saturday those of us who pre-ordered will be allowed onto the live servers.

So with this in mind, I give you the following truly sad suggestion for preparing for launch, written over on this Silky Venom thread by community veteran Leto;

Ok, for those who are not experts in the routine of prepping for a marathon-make-your-eyes-bleed launch…..This is what you do…

First you get the song “Eye of the Tiger” and play it on a loop on your MP3 player all week long.

Then you buy a Case or two of Mt. Dew or your favorite Energy Drink - Do NOT make the rookie mistake of putting these in the fridge. It is much easier to chug room temperature beverages.

Next you get a couple boxes of Hot Pockets, and Granola Bars. Hot Pockets for when you can AFK for two minutes at a time to microwave them, Granola Bars for the times when you can’t afford an AFK.

Next you take a field trip to Philly to do the whole run up the steps a la the Rocky Movies…..This is just for s**ts, it won’t help you, but damnit with the Eye of the Tiger still playing in the background, it is just too cool to pass up.

Lastly you pre-prep your computer with the days you have off….Blow the dust out of it, defrag the harddrives…..Get this stuff done now so you don’t have to do it later.

Optional is putting out a “Gone to Ecuador - be back in 30 days” sign on your front door and on your telephone answering service.

Oh, and don’t forget to get one last days worth of sleep before the servers launch because it will be all you will get for quite some time.
